The QV industry benchmark – Bomingwei Technology's PEEK 2S-PLUS HD wireless periscope, farther and clearer!

2025-10-15

The PEEK 2S-PLUS, an upgraded version of the PEEK Youth Edition launched by Bomingwei Technology, focuses on "longer detection range, higher resolution imaging, and more convenient operation," and is specifically designed for the inspection of urban stormwater and sewage drainage pipes, box culverts, and underground wellheads.

Core advantages:
1. Industry's first
In 2016, it pioneered the wireless periscope, becoming the first modular wireless periscope for pipelines in China. It was the industry's first wireless transmission device, employing exclusive directional WiFi wireless communication technology to effectively solve the problem of unstable signals inside pipelines.
2. Lighting upgrade
With more abundant light sources, it achieves full coverage of light sources from "far to medium to near", making up for the lack of light sources at medium distances. At the same time, it increases the power of the high beams, lengthens the lamp cups, and improves the illumination distance.
3. Movement Upgrade
The camera mechanism has been optimized and upgraded for clearer images. It features 400W high-definition pixels, 36x optical zoom, and more stable footage.

Features:

1. Lighting upgrade
Based on the PEEK Youth Edition, the high beam power has been increased and the lamp cup has been lengthened to improve long-distance illumination capability; two high-brightness medium beam lamps have been innovatively added to compensate for insufficient light source at medium distance; together with the low beam lamp, it achieves full-distance light source coverage of "far-medium-near", which can clearly detect fine structural problems on the inner wall (such as cracks and corrosion spots) of both small pipe diameters of DN150 and large pipes of DN3000.
2. High-definition lens
Equipped with a 4-megapixel digital camera, it supports 36x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom, and outputs clear 1080P images.

3. Laser ranging
Professional-grade laser directional ranging technology with a maximum detection distance of 1.5-100 meters (adjustable depending on pipeline conditions), fast response speed, and high measurement accuracy.
4. Dual-Wi-Fi directional transmission
The industry's first dual-WIFI directional data transmission technology, designed specifically for municipal pipeline network structures, effectively solves the problems of signal attenuation and transmission lag within the pipeline, ensuring real-time image transmission during the inspection process and stable and reliable data transmission.
5. Module expansion function
It supports seamless integration of hardware and software for mapping RTK equipment and 5G data transmission modules, saving time and effort.
6. Extremely large pitch angle
The lens has a vertical tilt angle of up to 110° and supports a one-key reset function. It can vertically observe the bottom of the well and easily cover areas that are difficult for traditional equipment to reach, such as pipe openings and corners, achieving detection without blind spots.
7. Simple to operate
The control terminal is easy to operate; basic operations can be learned in just 2 minutes, reducing manpower training costs and improving on-site testing efficiency.

Application scenarios
Scenario: Peek 2s-plus is mainly used for rapid imaging inspection of urban rainwater and sewage drainage pipes, box culverts, and manhole openings with diameters of DN150-3000.

Application Cases

Test Overview:
In August 2025, a drainage pipe network in a certain area of Shenzhen urgently needed inspection, involving a total pipe length of 1168.18 meters, covering various materials including reinforced concrete pipes, with pipe diameters ranging from DN200 to DN500. Due to the project's requirement for a short inspection period, concentrated workload, and minimizing disruption to residents' daily lives, efficient and accurate completion of the inspection was the key focus of this task.

Solution:

In this inspection, the core functions of the PEEK 2S-PLUS were fully utilized: three levels of high-brightness LED lights (far, medium, and near) provided ample light, clearly displaying the internal conditions and making various pipe defects readily apparent; dual-WIFI directional transmission technology ensured that the ground terminal received 1080P high-definition video in real time, preventing signal interruptions that could lead to missed detections; and the RTK positioning module accurately marked the latitude and longitude coordinates of each defect. Thanks to these technological advantages, the inspection was completed in just two days, significantly reducing the operation time and minimizing the impact on residents' lives.

news6

Test results:

This inspection involved endoscopic examination of 112 drainage pipe sections, identifying defects in 80 sections, resulting in a defect rate of 71.43%. These defects included 48 Class I defects, 10 Class II defects, 16 Class III defects, and 28 Class IV defects. The final inspection report not only clearly marked each defect but also provided targeted maintenance recommendations based on the age and operating conditions of the community's pipe network, offering a scientific basis for the overall network's operation and maintenance upgrades.
